The fix: nickel allergy is the most common metal allergy, and the classic flashpoint is the metal jeans button that sits against your stomach. A couple of coats of clear nail varnish on the back of the button creates a barrier between the metal and your skin (reapply as it wears).
The same trick works for watch backs and buckles.
